Not only are we dedicated to conscientious sourcing of tone wood to craft our instruments, we're constantly searching for alternate woods and materials, including rescuing wood that otherwise may have languished on the forest floor.

A departure from Fender's traditional tone wood choices, the 2017 Limited Edition American Professional Mahogany Tele Deluxe ShawBucker tempers the traditional Tele bite with the rich sound and warm look of mahogany. Over the course of its journey from the forest floor to the player's hands, this body wood has weathered natural disasters, acquiring more than a little mojo along the way.

Rescued Hurricane Mitch Honduran Mahogany Body

Recovered from the forest floor after being felled by tropical Hurricane Mitch, the exquisite mahogany used for the body of this guitar has a fine, even grain. Honduran mahogany is prized for its warmth, balance and clarity, giving this guitar a beautiful voice to match its incredible looks.

Mahogany Neck

This Tele sports a smooth-playing mahogany neck to go along with its beautiful mahogany body, providing even greater warmth and richness.

ShawBucker Pickups

Voiced specifically for their position, our redesigned ShawBucker open-coil humbucking pickups deliver highly dynamic, multi-dimensional tone while resisting electrical noise.

6-Saddle String-Through-Body Hardtail Bridge

This model features a hardtail six-saddle bridge for solid tuning stability, precise intonation and increased sustain. The string-through-body design enhances string-to-body vibration transfer for added sustain.

“Deep C” Neck Profile

Designed for comfort and speed, the “Deep C” neck profile sports more substantial shoulders. The increased mass and altered geometry creates a more natural feel that’s perfect for chord and single-note playing alike.
