Designed originally as a student bass, the Mustang Bass quickly took on a life of its own, inspiring innovators and new players alike with its short scale length and heavy tone. Born in Corona, California, the American Performer Mustang Bass continues that tradition with a modern feel, updated materials and exceptional tone thanks to a special split-coil Yosemite™ pickup.

MUSTANG BASS YOSEMITE PICKUPS
Designed as a set with each calibrated for its respective position, Mustang Bass Yosemite pickups are the first specially-created alnico pickups offered at this price point. The neck pickup is a special split-coil design using original '70s Fender drawings with original magnet structure for authentic tone, while the bridge pickup uses Formvar-coated wire for classic Jazz Bass® tones and open, expressive highs.
